Blog-Saturday, March 16

Today we started out bright and early! The majority of our group met at the church at 3:30am. There we loaded our luggage, grabbed a few supplies that Ryan had for us then prayed before heading to the airport. Our first flight was a quick trip to Chicago. This was Logan and Makenna’s first time flying. We had a short layover, so we were able to grab some breakfast before getting on the plane and heading to Belize. This flight was just under 4 hours with quite a bit of turbulence towards the end which caused Makenna to squeal. Surprisingly with a group our size, we were able to make it through immigration and customs rather quickly. However, we did have a couple small speed bumps. We found out that Logan and Darlene’s luggage never made it onto the plane so was still in Des Moines and Ryan’s luggage had quite a bit of damage to it. Then we all loaded onto a bus which then took us to our hotel. There we got checked into our rooms and then spent time in our groups to prepare for our school devotions. We were able to have a little bit of relaxation time before heading to Bird’s Isle for supper. Wellington and Jermaine along with his family were able to join us for supper. The food was delicious, but Logan says the beef here doesn’t taste the same as back home. There was a wedding going on across the parking lot which provided some entertainment for us. The scenery was gorgeous, and we had a great time of fellowship. When we arrived back to the hotel, Ryan gave us some instructions for tomorrow and now here we are writing this blog for you 😊 Now it’s finally time to go to bed 😊
